A wide variety of specialised music and dance workshops is on offer throughout each day. The only problem is figuring out which ones to do! Some of the workshops occur once during the camp and others are progressive. Once you are at the camp you can go to any of the workshops on offer. Schedules are given out upon arrival and are also available to download here – 2020 CAMP SCHEDULE. Beginners are welcome and all levels of skill are catered for.

Each evening takes us on a musical journey through the Middle East and North Africa. Concerts showcasing different regional styles of dance and music are an opportunity to enjoy the talents of our wonderful teachers, along with performances by guest and emerging artists and bands. Be inspired by some of Australia’s most talented and respected musicians and dancers in an intimate and friendly atmosphere. Get up and have a dance to the fabulous live music!

Ever dreamed of dancing with a band and experiencing the joy of spontaneous creativity? Sign up for the Bellydance Cabaret. The Cabaret is more than just a performance opportunity; it is a chance to experience the beautiful, sensual art of bellydance in its most sacred and powerful setting. Music and dance merge and audience and performers share in the magic of spontaneity and improvisation. Please note: Cabaret performance spots are limited and full camp participants are given preference.

Share your talents with the camp community at the Chalkboard sessions. These performances are unplugged (no amplification) and are strictly for participants only – not teachers. Performances with live music are encouraged at the Chalkboard sessions because the focus of the camp is combining live music with dance. There will be limited places allocated for dance performances that use recorded music. Places are on a first in basis so add your name to the chalkboard when you get to the camp.

Monday night is your chance to perform at our “Bahar Bayram Concert” where workshop participants and teachers share what they have created during the camp. This is our favourite concert at the camp and a special experience for all involved!

Late night jam sessions will be held in the camp’s new venue the Pavilion, or if conditions allow around the fire. Musicians and dancers of all levels are welcome to join in or just enjoy the wonderful music and atmosphere.

Besides music and dance there are lots of other things to do while you are at the camp, such as enjoying the natural surrounds and waterfall or a night time visit to the glow worm caves at Natural Bridge.
